What is Scleroderma?
What is Scleroderma:
Scleroderma (Skler-o-derma) literally means "hard skin". It is a chronic autoimmune disease that
affects the body's blood vessels and collagen production. Hardening of the skin is the most visable
sign: symptoms may also be invisable when internal organs are affected. Common symptoms include;
sensitivity to cold in fingers and hands, thickening of the skin, shortness of breath, difficulty
swallowing, and joint stiffness and pain. There is currently no known cause or cure.
